Telehealth psychiatry in New Jersey and Pennsylvania

Both of our providers are licensed in New Jersey and Pennsylvania, and both see patients by telehealth. For a lot of people, it’s the difference between sticking with psychiatric care and quietly letting it slide.

An expanded schedule

We offer telehealth on an expanded schedule, including weekends, evenings, and holidays by request. If a 9-to-5 schedule is what’s kept you from starting treatment, tell us when you reach out.

An expanded schedule: key points

  • A private space and a device with a camera and a reliable internet connection.
  • Test your camera and microphone ahead of time so setup doesn’t eat into your appointment.
  • Headphones help if other people are home.

Both states, both providers

Dr. Funmilayo Whitaker and Dr. Anastasia O. Ofoegbu, both psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioners, are licensed in New Jersey and Pennsylvania, so telehealth is available across our whole service area, not just one state. At the time of your appointment, you need to be physically located in a state where your provider is licensed.

Both states, both providers: key points

  • Being out of state that day — traveling or working somewhere else — can affect whether your appointment can go ahead.
  • If you have travel coming up, mention it when you book.

What telehealth is good for

Follow-up medication management works especially well by video. It’s a structured check-in on how you’re responding, and that doesn’t require being in the same room. Comprehensive psychiatric assessments can also be done by telehealth — ask us, and we’ll confirm what works for you.

What telehealth is good for: key points

  • A structured review — sleep, side effects, what has changed — carries over to video well.
  • It’s easier to keep your notes or questions handy when you’re at home.
  • Video can’t replace a physical exam.

When telehealth is not the right call

Telehealth is not for emergencies. If you are in crisis, call or text 988 for the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline. If you or someone else is in immediate danger, call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room. This practice is not monitored around the clock.
